what a lovely way to end AP testing.

I never liked the small gym.

Today, we were all taking our AP Lang test.  Everything was going swimmingly; in fact, I was feeling particularly wonderful because the multiple choice portion had been a lot easier than I expected.

Oh, did I mention that I was sitting near the front of the small gym?  BAD DECISION.

Anyways, I was working on the essay portion, shivering because the gym was so freaking cold, when I heard people start to laugh around me.  I turned around and noticed Kelsey flailing around.  I watched in confusion as she jumped on top of her chair.

Then I noticed the HUGE bug underneath her chair.  It looked like a giant ant, except its shell/covering thing resembled that of a cockroach.

So Kelsey switched seats and the bug headed for Cherise, who then moved to a different seat too.  Ms. Ives threw one of those box lids on top of the bug and we all went back to our essays.

Twenty minutes later, I noticed the bug crawling under my desk.  At first, I thought it was a sibling of the original bug and I spent a few seconds horrified, thinking that they had overrun the gym.  Then I realized (slightly relieved) that it was the same bug as before; it had just escaped from underneath the lid.

The bug finally moved away from me (YAY) and moved on to Osama’s desk, which was next to mine.  Then, I realized that it was heading straight for Steph’s feet.  Did I mention that Steph was wearing flip flops?

So, I watched as the giant bug crawled over Steph’s foot.  It was seriously bigger than her toes. Our proctor finally noticed it and attempted to kill/pick it up with a tissue.  However, the bug jumped out from between her fingers and started crawling away really fast, probably eager to terrify its next victim.  By now, pretty much everyone in the room had stopped writing.  Amidst shrieks of disgust, our proctor was finally able to chase down the bug and release it outside.

The funny thing is, Steph never noticed the bug crawling over her foot.  I guess she was too absorbed in her essay… Of course, that shouldn’t surprise me.  We do go to SMHS, after all.
