happy birthday! you didn’t really think I would just leave you the obligatory facebook post, did you?
oh my, where to start. the beginning, i suppose.
first of all, i must apologize for not remembering you before sixth grade (“wait you went to carver?!”). or not realizing until 6th grade that we went to the same church (“we were in the same sunday school class?!”). my bad.
but from the moment you stepped into my life (in 6th? 7th? 8th? grade), you have made it that much more complete. IMAGINE SAPPY TUMBLR QUOTES HERE.
and sarcasm aside, I truly am thankful for our friendship. I love how we can spend hours making fun of corny love quotes, “true love”, high school relationships, and each other.
it’s been an especially tough year for me, and I am so so thankful that I’ve had you there to encourage me.
whether we were dissecting lakisha, baking lemon cookies, looking up pictures of celski, or watching glee, we’ve somehow managed to survive.
you’re now seventeen (*gasp!), your last year before officially becoming an adult. scary thought.
I hope that today will be filled with sunshine and rainbows (HAHA). I hope that this upcoming year will bring you more wisdom, peace, and joy. i hope that you will continue to grow in your faith, that you will continue to become a woman of God.
I am sure that God has absolutely amazing things in store for you. I pray that He will continue to bless you and that you will in turn draw nearer to Him.
and now, to quote a particularly sappy birthday card:
